Story Submission Guidelines
1. Always include a name or alias, valid e-mail address and link to the original article.

2. The story should be interesting and new and keeping with the themes of other stories on Ecollo.

3. If you're including a title and blurb, please take a second to run it through a spell checker first!

4. Obscene images, offensive or outright profane language is not acceptible. (duh) On the flip side of that: clever, witty, and funny language is welcomed.

5. If you're including a video link, be sure to check that it's embeddable video. We like to host clips through Ecollo to give our audience one-click access. Also, we prefer videos that do not contain a bunch of leading commercials.

6. If you're including a link to media that cannot be embedded, please include a screencap as an image link.

7. If you've produced an original image, Google "image hosting" to find an online provider of free image hosting.

Links
We're always looking for great stories at Ecollo! If you've come across something you think deserves a place on the Ecollo home page, just send us your name (or alias), e-mail address and link and we'll take care of the rest. And don't worry, we won't publish your e-mail on the article but we'll be certain to give you full credit for sending it in! You can check out our Privacy Policy for more information.

Stories
If you are a good writer, feel free to submit a headline and blurb to go along with the article. (We'll have to check it for grammar and spelling, of course.)

Calling All Bloggers...
If you have a personal blog and you've written an article that you think should be featured on Ecollo, please send it in! Don't be shy!

Images
If you have an image that goes along with your story, paste the URL in the image link box. We'll take care of the Photoshopping.

A Note about Press Releases
If you're a company or association with a great new product, event or discovery that you feel is newsworthy, we'd love to know about it! But please, send us a link to the press release and do not paste the whole thing into the blurb box.

Multiple Submissions
Two chocolate chip cookies are usually better than one, yet thirty cookies is probably going overboard. Feel free to resubmit your story if you think it was overlooked, but please do not spam us with the same stuff over and over.

Hey, Where's My Story?!
Some stories just don't make the cut or they get lost in the shuffle. It happens. We want to encourage you to keep sending in good stuff. If you could find one good story, we're sure you can find another one. Find something new and send that in instead.

Ack! What Happened to My Story?!
If you were the first person to submit the link, we'll always give you credit. However, sometimes the same story comes from multiple sources and we have to give credit to the person who sent it in first. Also, even if you've written a great headline or blurb, sometimes our editors need to make... well, edits! It's nothing to get sore over, it's just what editors do.

Leafy Green's Tip of the Day Palm oil is in so many products it's hard to keep track: everything from face cream to pasta sauce. The problem is everytime you buy a product containing palm oil you are directly supporting the destruction of habitats for endangered species such as Sumatran tigers and orangutans. Always look for products that contain sustainable oils such as canola, sunflower or olive oil instead.
