Ah new shoes, words that strike fear in the heart of Mr. Pinky Bean. It's hard not to think about them though now that we're (finally!) in sandal weather. Feel a little less guilty about buying new footwear, thanks to the zoe&zac line of eco-friendly shoes, a collaborative effort between Payless ShoeSource and model Summer Rayne Oakes.
The zoe&zac collection features earth-conscious materialssuch as organic cotton, faux leather, hemp and recycled materials including PET and rubber outsoles. Equally important is what the shoes don't contain, including nickel, lead and PVC. Many of the shoes even use biodegradable, recyclable ecoFoam. The line isn't just limited to shoes; also check out the zoe&zac Persimmon Large Shopper, made using 100% organic cotton and water-based ink.
If that wasn't enough to convince you shoe-shopping is in your near future, how about the fact that the shoeboxes are made from 100% recycled material and printed using soy-based inks, as well as the fact that nothing in the entire collection exceeds a $30 price tag.
