Ever Bamboo helps you deodorize and dehumidfy naturally

Posted by Pinky Bean on December 1, 2008 6:15 AM Filed Under: Gifts, Shopping

Bamboo already has a good eco-reputation because it is a renewable and sustainable resource, so it should come as no big surprise to learn about the eco-friendliness of bamboo charcoal, a natural deodorizer and humidifier. Bamboo charcoal isn't exactly new; Asians discovered its beneficial attributes more than five centuries ago. Ever Bamboo, a company based in Calgary, Alberta, hopes to share some of these benefits with customers looking for a natural way to deodorize rooms and items around the home, purify water, regulate humidity and even as a gardening tool.

Bamboo charcoal comes from the moso bamboo plant, which grows rapidly (two feet or more in a single day!) and develops millions of tiny holes as it gets older and densifies. These tiny holes are eventually able to absorb odor, moisture and polluted air particles. Bamboo charcoal retains its high density and porous structure, and compared to wood charcoal, has 10 times more surface area and an absorption rate that is four times more effective. Ever Bamboo has used these characteristics to develop a line of products for a home, for individuals and even for their four-legged friends.

The range of home deodorizers have been formulated to work in a variety of settings, including the kitchen, closet, bedroom and even a fragrant gym bag or locker. Those who suffer from foot odor issues will be thrilled to discover products designed especially for them, such as shoe deodorizers, shoe insoles and bamboo socks. A selection of personal care products such as a relaxation pillow allows customers to rejuvenate while taking advantage of the deodorizing properties. For pets, Ever Bamboo offers a bamboo charcoal that absorbs odors and maintains cleanliness in their area.

Even better, bamboo charcoal can be 100 per cent recycled once it has reached its expiry date (approximately one year from the day of opening). Once it has past expiration, it can be used in garden soil. Ever Bamboo products are not only sustainable, they are responsibly manufactured in China at a fair-trade factory.

Conventional air fresheners are no friend to the environment as they are filled with chemicals, pollute and are over-packaged. It's no surprise then that the air we breath indoors is up to five times more polluted than the outdoors thanks to the chemicals consumers unknowingly buy and bring into their homes.

Learn more about the benefits of bamboo charcoal, as well as how to care for it and most importantly how to buy it, after the jump!
