I have a couple kids running around my place which means that my existing carpet is slowly deteriorating. I’ve been looking around for some environmentally friendly flooring options and the other day I came across wool carpets. From what I understand this has been an option for ages but with the recent advent of synthetics they have been pushed aside. Why you ask? Well I don't know, after a little research it looks like wool is a far superior product and a renewable resource.
Although the price of Wool carpeting can seem a bit pricey compared to synthetics it more that pays for itself when it lasts up to twice as long. That’s a great start but just wait till you hear the rest. Wool has natural properties that resist stains, bacteria and dust mites and is fire retardant. It does not give off harmful emissions which some synthetics do and it can actually absorb other emissions, keeping the air in your home fresher and safer. Brilliant!
Next time you’re in the market for carpet or even and area rug, keep wool in mind. It’s safer for the environment, easy to clean, long lasting and attractive.
