Brad Pitt's green humanitarian efforts have come to fruition with the first six homes from his Make It Right campaign completed. The homes were built in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in August 2005.
Pitt wanted the homes to be as eco-friendly as possible and turned to L.A.-based architects from the Graft firm to design the houses with solar panels and water-resistant features. The homes were priced at $150,000 each, however the Make It Right charity pledged to provide interest-free loans to prospective buyers and to subsidize the cost for the hurricane victims based on their income.
Pitt donated $5 million to help fund the project, which also received aid from the American Idol "Idol Gives Back" fundraiser held this past April.
