Remember those grotesquely obese monkeys we told you about a couple of months ago? Apparently their weight-loss plan is going as well as hoped and their calorie intake has now been cut by about sixty per cent in in hopes of helping the creatures obtain their trim figures once again. Approximately 50 Rhesus monkeys living in Ohama park in Japan weigh nearly three times the average 10 kilograms one of their kind should weigh.
Now park officials are begging the public to stop feeding the monkeys, while plans for a blocked enclosure to house them are underway. In the meantime, the monkeys may actually be subjected to tummy tucks to help them regain a normal appearance once the Jenny Craig effect kicks in and they drop several pounds.
Does the ridiculousness of the words "tummy tuck" and "monkey" in the same sentence resonate with anyone else? It's a pretty sad commentary on society when even animals are too fat to move and therefore dieting and undergoing cosmetic procedures to reverse the problem.
