Toyota scored another victory in the eco-friendly car race with its Yaris being named the 2008 "Green Car of the Year" by the Environmental Transport Agency in the UK. The ETA analyzes the power, emissions, fuel efficiency and noise of more than 1300 car models before deciding which is the most eco-friendly vehicle of them all. The annual evaluation is considered the benchmark in Britain in terms of green car standards.
The Yaris also took top spot in the supermini category. Other winners included the Honda Civic Hybrid in the small family category, the BMW 3 Series E90/E91/E92/E93 in the large family category, the BMW 5 Series E60/E61 in the executive car category and the Toyota RAV4 in the offroad category.
The Dodge SRT-10 sports car took the dishonor of being named the least green car sold in Britain.
