Rwanda celebrated their growing mountain gorilla population on the weekend by putting on a lively ceremony where 20 of the creatures were named. It's not common for every species in the area to be the center of attention every time their numbers increase, however there are only about 700 of these rare, endangered creatures alive. Given that these gorillas can only be born once every four years and the only baby twin gorillas in the world were recently added to the population, the growth is considered especially good news.
Locals have started taking an active interest in the fate of the gorillas, as have tourists who came out in droves last year - about 40,000 total - to see the animals. The newly named gorillas will join the 65 that have been named since 2005.
Watch the report below for a glimpse of the adorable - if not large - gorillas and to see some of this past weekend's festivities in action.
