If you've ever experienced the problem of your chain slipping off your bike as you're riding, you know how much fun that can be as you careen wildly in every direction, your pedals rendered useless. Now imagine how fun that would be as you're on your way to work, having done the green thing by deciding to commute without the use of your car.
Don't worry, the transportation gods aren't trying to teach you a lesson. Your bike isn't broken and putting a chain back on can be a relatively simple process, which is a good thing since the only thing worse than the chain falling off during your ride is the embarrassment of hopelessly trying to fix it on the side of the road as passers-by stare (and maybe point and laugh). Watch the video below for instructions to help you avoid this scenario and if you are going to be using your bike as a means of transportation, don't forget to take an old cloth with you to wipe your hands on once your done since, as you'll notice, putting a chain back on is messy work!
