Go whale watching with Hayden Panettiere

Posted by Pinky Bean on May 20, 2008 1:09 PM Filed Under: Life, Shopping
Thanks to Matthew Kraft for this story!

Hayden Panettiere is showing more love to the whales. In the past few months she's auctioned multiple items from her closet to benefit the Save the Whales Again! campaign. Her latest efforts to promote awareness and raise money for the cause have teamed her up with social networking site Zude.com to offer fans an opportunity they won't want to miss out on.

Beginning today, you can visit eBay to bid on a prize that will actually have you rubbing elbows with the Heroes star. This isn't just a two-minute meet-and-greet opportunity either; the auction winner will take five of their nearest and dearest friends to a Save the Whales Again! fundraising dinner at Hollywood eater Beso, owned by Eva Longoria. The following week you and your five pals will set sail with Hayden on a private whale watching through the Chanel islands, off the coast of Santa Barbara. Jeff Pantukhoff, a world-renowned whale researcher and founder of The Whaleman Foundation will also be there to offer his expertise.

The prize includes dinner and drinks at the fundraiser, lunch during the tourphoto ops with Hayden and a $1000 American Express gift card. Not to mention you'll undoubtedly be the most popular person in your circle of friends as they all vie for one of the coveted spots at either (or both if you really love them!) events, plus you'll have that warm, fuzzy feeling knowing that you're contributing to a great campaign!

Hit the jump to visit the eBay auction. Bidding begins at 4 p.m. PDT today and ends on May 30, so make sure you keep checking back to see if you lead the bidding!
