It's probably safe to assume you don't want to rub chemical-infused products all over your baby, however pesky mosquitoes, fleas and ticks are inevitable guests that tag along on most camping excursions and allowing them to feast upon your baby's exposed skin isn't an option either.
What a relief then that California Baby actually makes a safe, all-natural bug repellent specifically for babies under six months old. The California Baby Natural Bug Blend Bug Repellent Spray contains citronella, lemongrass and cedar essential oils. All of the company's essential oils are guaranteed to be pesticide free, and you can also be rest assured that this product does not contain any of the toxic chemical ingredients like Deet that are found in common repellent brands. Nor are any nut oils, gluten, soy, oat or dairy found in the product either.
If despite your best efforts your baby does get bitten, use the spray to soothe sore itchy bites. The only downside is that because the scent is what keeps the bugs away, you'll have to reapply the spray pretty frequently but it's a small trade-off for the peace of mind of knowing you aren't slathering your families youngest members with toxic products.
