If you live in the U.S. and are curious to see how your city or town ranks in carbon dioxide emissions compared to the rest of the country, Purdue University scientists have created a map that will enlighten you.
The high-res map shows the per-capita emissions based on 100 square kilometer regions of the country divided by the number of people living in the area. There aren't many huge surprises revealed on the map. Most of the country falls on the lower end of the emissions scale, with Texas showing more high emissions regions than any other area. California's emissions are a bit of a surprise, given the big green push in the west.
