The return of the bento box, part 2

Posted by Pinky Bean on April 9, 2008 1:22 PM Filed Under: Food

The sight of pink rice might be unnerving, but there's no denying these little piggy rice balls are eye-catching and very creative. Some hard-boiled eggs designed to look like mushrooms, sliced cheese and pickles, broccoli, a tomato and a source of meat protein (whatever leftovers are in the fridge from dinner last night will do) make this one well-rounded lunch or dinner.

All of your child's classmates (or your co-workers depending who the bento box is actually for) will undoubtedly be jealous of this bright, appetizing meal, especially as they look down upon their boring beige sandwich or fast-food burger. There's nothing more appealing than food that looks like you could play with it. Does anyone ever grow out of that?
