Despite his last name, Seth Green's reasons for purchasing his Toyota Prius weren't necessarily to minimize his vehicle's impact on the environment. Unlike Leonardo DiCaprio, who loves his Prius so much he may ask it to move into his new eco-friendly condo with him, Seth's desire to tighten his purse strings served as the inspiration for his purchase.
Green says, "I bought a Prius because gas was just outrageous and I'm cheap. And I was commuting a lot in L.A. driving to and from work. It's horribly ugly. It's not an attractive car at all.
"I had that thing going 111 miles per hour out to San Diego so it goes fast. And the best thing about it is I have those stickers on it so I can drive single-passenger in the high occupancy vehicle lane."
Well at least he's honest about it. It feels far more sincere than Paris Hilton's lame attempt to convince the public that she really cares about the earth by adding a GMC Yukon hybrid to her fleet of vehicles. Going green is the new "it" thing to do in Hollywood, so it's somewhat amusing that Seth owned up to his true motivation. Does anyone else find it ironic (and maybe a breath of fresh air) that a guy who's been acting since the 80s and likely has a relatively healthy bank account describes himself as "cheap" and would rather drive this than an overpriced, flashy vehicle?
Speaking of Seth and amusement, you can watch the clip below to see some of his more notable work in the Austin Powers film trilogy.
