If you're hanging around Jersey City this weekend and looking for something to do, be sure hit the Global Green Expo at Liberty State Park. Maybe you'll run into Ed Begley Jr. (or more accurately, maybe he'll run into you on his bike). Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin, Ted Danson and plus-size model Emme will also be hanging around and speaking at the event, which runs all weekend beginning on Friday.
You'll also be able to experience the music of The Bacon Brothers, featuring actor Kevin Bacon, of Footloose fame, and his big brother Michael. The brothers have been recording (five albums!) and performing together for over a decade, but consider themselves "lifelong musicians."
"All my heroes were guys with guitars,” Kevin says, remembering his teens. “All my spare change was spent on music. I saw my brother playing out, and moving an audience and I could see how powerful music could be. Around that time I took my first acting class and I fell in love with it, and my life took a different direction."
Kevin isn't new to lending his famous name to good causes - in fact, he established the Six Degrees organization to raise money for numerous charities and has raised over $2 million since starting the initiative.
You can catch the Bacon Brothers at the Global Green Expo on Saturday, April 26 at 5 p.m, but if you just can't wait for your Bacon-ator goodness, watch the clip below of Kevin and Michael performing.
