Greenpeace encourages alternatives to the standard light bulb

Posted by Pinky Bean on April 22, 2008 12:20 PM Filed Under: Energy, Video

Greenpeace sure has a way of making you pay attention. When they aren't protesting activities such as airport expansions and Japanese whaling, they're coming up with creative ways to encourage you to minimize your environmental impact.

In this ad they encourage viewers to switch to energy-efficient light bulbs, a message that is applicable anytime, thought it seems especially relevant given that today is Earth Day. The ad is narrated by actor Martin Freeman, whose voice you may recognize from The Office or the films Hot Fuzz and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Watch the clip below and in the event you decide to switch the bulbs in your home, make sure you know how to handle them properly.
