What's cuter than one polar bear cub you ask? Well, how about two? Earlier in the year Flake, the cub from the Nuremberg Zoo in Germany, made his world debut, but he may soon be nudged out of the spotlight by these playful twins, born on November 30, 2007 and living at the Schoenbrunn Zoo in Vienna.
The cubs even have a famous relative in Knut, the German polar bear who went emo on his mother and rejected her in favor of being hand-reared by employees of his home zoo. Talk about a severe case of pre-teenage rebellion. These cubs are nothing like their cousin however, and enjoy a close relationship with Olinka, the mother who birthed them, hid them in a cave and kept them warm with her paws when they were newborns. In fact, immediately after the cubs emerged from their cave for the first time earlier today, they spent time playing with with other and exploring their surroundings before enjoying a leisurely lunch with mom.
