Jack Johnson is preparing to back his eco-friendly album with an equally green world tour to promote Sleep Through the Static, his latest album which is entering its third consecutive week at number one.
So far 23 tour dates across the U.S. and Canada have been announced and is expected to be one of the summer's hottest concert tickets. However Jack isn't going to let this get in the way of his committment to preserving the earth and promoting environmental awareness. Vehicles used during the tour will be powered by biodiesel and the performer and his team will work with venues to minimize waste, recycle and offset carbon emissions. You'll even be able to take a piece of Jack home with you with some eco-friendly tour souvenirs.
That's not all; Jack is preparing to launch the All At Once campaign, which will allow fans to participate online and while at his concert. The All At Once website will offers fans free downloads and tips on how to reduce one's environmental impact such as carpooling to concerts and reducing the use of plastic. At the concerts, fans can visit Village Green, which will aim to educate as well as provide connections to local, national and international non-profit groups. The Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation will even match all contributions made by fans, both online and at concerts, up to $2,500 per organization. Concert attendees will also have the option to donate an extra 50 cents when purchasing tickets or purchase an offset sticker at the venue that will offset the carbon emissions from traveling to the show.
“I can’t think of a better reason to put on a concert than to bring people together to create positive change,” said Jack Johnson. “With this year’s tour we are bringing together all of our resources All At Once to give back to each community that we visit.”
