It seems Al Gore isn't all that interested in discussing the possibility that he could be the one to take over the Oval Office after the November election. Instead global warming appears to still be the forefront issue on his mind. Tonight he'll take the stage at CBS news program 60 Minutes to discuss his views on the topic, as well as the $300 million television ad campaign that his foundation The Alliance for Climate Protection will launch next week. During the interview, Gore point-blank addresses the comment by correspondent Lesley Stahl that not everyone - including the vice-president of the United States - buys into the theory that global warming is the result of human activity.
"You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat. ... That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off."
CBS also says Stahl asks Gore whether he wears a Hillary Clinton button or Barack Obama pajamas (maybe that's not a direct quote), however the network is remaining mum on Gore's response to the question. Gore, a super delegate for the Democrat party, has so far refused to state whom he supports for the party nomination. You'll have to tune in tonight to see if he picks a side, but meanwhile you can see a teaser for the 60 Minutes interview below.
