It seems Britney Spears has taken criticism that she is bad for the environment to heart. Tonight after Spears' much-ballyhooed appearance on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, the network and 20th Century Fox Television will auction six of the clothing items worn by Spears in the episode, with proceeds going to the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The NRDC is an environmental action organization that protects wildlife and habitats using law, science and the help of 1.2 million members and online activists, in ongoing efforts to provide a safe and health environment for all living things.
The auction will begin immediately following the episode featuring Spears that will air at 8:30 p.m. EST/PST tonight, and will run for the rest of the week. Up for grabs are a navy Juicy Couture dress, as well as a yellow dress and a cream-colored cardigan with blue flower details, both by Nannette Lepore, all worn by Spears at some point during filming of the guest spot.
If you just can't wait until tonight to see Britney in action, watch the video below for preview clips of her appearance.
