If you're planning a trip in the near future, be sure to take your Green Map with you. The Green Map system is a collaborative effort that allows mapmakers all over the world - in over 50 countries to be more specific - to document the natural, cultural and green living resources available in their area. All of this is done in the name of creating sustainable community development on a global scale.
The non-profit organization works to offer valuable resources for locals and tourists alike in an effort to promote healthier and greener choices. Over 300 Green Maps have been published and many are downloadable on the site, making it easy and convenient to access eco information in worldwide communities. Users can search by location on a map or by activities and topics such as food or ecotourism, all sorted on a list. Whether you're searching for the best eco activities, food or climate for your next trip, this is the place to find it.
Watch the video below to see the Green Map crew update their wall of maps with all of the new maps that were added in 2007. To check out the Green Map site, hit the jump and start exploring!
