It appears that like humans, gorillas also enjoy the missionary position. In new footage obtained by the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leah, a gorilla from the Republic of Congo, was the first of her kind to be filmed mating face-to-face. Researchers have seen other gorillas mating in similar positions but haven't been able to record it until now.
"We can't say how common this manner of mating is, but it has never been observed with western gorillas in the forest," said Max-Planck's Thomas Breuer, who photographed the gorilla couple along with colleague Mireille Ndoundou Hockemba. "It is fascinating to see similarities between gorilla and human sexual behavior demonstrated by our observation."
Sure it's all "fascinating" now until that copy of Leah's gorilla porn debut hits the internet and makes her an instant star in the adult animal entertainment industry. Look at the credibility that kind of press gave Paris Hilton's career. And all the poor thing wanted to do was get some pre-Valentine's nooky. At least George, Leah's mating partner, was romantic enough to look her in the eyes during their romp, likely making it a meaninful and memorable experience for both.
