Eliminate the worry of the unknown substances that may be lurking in your child's toys by helping them create their very own, customized clothespin doll! Easy enough for the artistically-challenged (ahem, that would include myself), these adorable dolls look simple enough to construct and can be made to reflect the characteristics that make your child unique.
The clothespins and the letter blocks (which lead to an unavoidable feeling of nostalgia) they are mounted on in the introductory photo are both made of wood, and you can make the dolls even more eco friendly by using scraps of organic cotton for the clothing and organic yarn for the hair. Don't forget to ensure the glue and ballpoint pen are also non toxic.
Supplies:
A round clothespin/doll pin (available at craft stores like Michaels)
Scraps of cotton fabric and felt
yarn or felt for hair
embroidery floss
ball point pen
school glue or tacky glue
scissors
drill
pipecleaner
needle and thread (optional)
