There are few shows I remember with as much nostalgia as The Muppet Show. The entire Muppet franchise can be hit (Muppet Treasure Island) and miss (Muppets Tonight). Thankfully this Muppet-ized version of A Christmas Carol made it onto the "hit" side, with the always fantastic Michael Caine in the role of Scrooge and the Muppet cast taking on supporting roles. Kermit the Frog is radiant(ly green) as Bob Cratchit with Miss Piggy as his wife Emily Cratchit, and Statler and Waldorf bring their typically sarcastic wit to the roles of Jacob and Robert Marley. Gonzo narrates the story with his famous sidekick, the scene-stealing Rizzo the Rat. And of course no Muppet film would be complete without the characteristic musical numbers, in top form here, especially on "Scrooge," which is performed by the entire cast.
The Muppet Christmas Carol is one you don't have to feel guilty about enjoying just as much as the kids.
