Perhaps you're not willing to pick through the frozen turkey lumps at your local grocery store this year or maybe you just really want to impress the heck out of your Thanksgiving guests.
Well how about a certified humane, free-range organic heritage turkey? Just read this blurb from the igourmet.com web site:
Only whole organic grains and pure spring water are fed to these birds, without any protein supplements or added bi-products. Furthermore, no pesticides and herbicides ever come in contact with the birds or their food or water. Additionally, no antibiotics, no growth hormones, no arsenicals and no artificial light are permitted at any time. The result is a turkey with great flavor, tenderness and a 25% lower fat-content than commercially raised alternatives.
Sounds pretty good doesn't it? These suckers range in price from $140 for a 10 pound bird to $200 for an 18 pound turkey. Yikes! It is pricey, but it's only once a year and at least when you purchase one of these turkeys you know it's been raised under the best, most humane conditions possible.
Hit the jump to see for yourself. These turkeys are only available after November 15th, so be prepared and order yours early to ensure delivery before the big day!
