Ack! Diwali, the Hindu festival of Lights, was November 8th and I forgot to post something about special Diwali food! Oh well, it's still not too late to promote the wonderful cuisine of India.
There is so much more to Indian cuisine than just butter chicken and garlic naan. India is a massive country with a rich history and a large number of ethnic groups and traditions. How about some Indian-Chinese fusion, traditional Punjabi dishes, spicy Kerala cuisine or vegetarian Rajasthani? They all fall under the umbrella of being "Indian food" but they are so much more than that. There is so much texture and variety in Indian cuisine that with some experimentation I guarantee you'll find something to your liking.
Sulekha.com has a food section that's a great place to start exploring the world on Indian cooking. They have recipes categorized by type and the Sulekha community votes for favorite dishes and submits their favorite recipe versions. Hit the jump to to straight to Sulekha's food section and start learning more about Indian cooking today!
