Change the World: Provide training for a Guatemalan farmer for a whole year for just $25

Posted by Leafy Green on November 30, 2007 2:07 PM Filed Under: Gifts, Shopping

For a small farmer working in Guatemala, the hard part of his job isn't working the fields.  The hard part is surviving during the time between when the crop is planted and when it is harvested.  These small farmers often have no collateral, no access to credit, and little education on how to manage their business or their money.

Your gift of $25 would provide a farmer in Guatemala with the education and tools he needs to develop his business, manage bank loans, and work effectively suppliers and customers for an entire year.

It's not a "warm-fuzzy" gift like adopting a baby animal, but just think about the power and influence that type of knowledge could have in a small farmer's life.  The financial resources we take for granted simply aren't available to these people.  These are people who work hard to provide for themselves and their families, yet because they lack the training there are times when their families go hungry.  Your gift of $25 could help bring stability to people's lives and help put food on the tables of families in need.  Hit the jump for more info.
