Celery Furniture has been known for some time now for their beautiful, distinctively simple "Lulaboo" children's furniture crafted from bamboo, 100% recycled fibreboard, nontoxic adhesives and zero-to-low-VOC paint. Celery's furniture is elegantly designed and eliminates the need for conventional fasteners by using age-old mortise and tenon joinery.
Sustainable furniture does come at a bit of a premium price point. Those bamboo children's rocking chairs in the photo above are $140 smackeroos each! Still, this may be a small price to pay knowing that your furniture is built to last from sustainable materials and won't expose your children to any toxic chemicals. The $20 Wal-Mart special made of chipboard and covered in lead paint from China is actually a more environmentally expensive alternative.
Now Celery Furniture is moving into the world of furniture for grown-ups with their "Pause" line which is set to debut on their web site any day now. Hit the jump to see if they've unveiled any new designs yet!
