WebMD has what at first glance looks like a bunch of tips for the common cold. Let's take a closer look.
1. Blow your nose often - and do it correctly! WebMD advises a gentle one-nostril blow which, as we all know, is an effective way to lauch boogers great distances.
2. Get some rest. (Duh!)
3. Gargle with salt water 4 times a day to relieve your sore throat.
4. Drink hot liquids to relieve nasal congestion and sooth inflamed membranes.
5. Take hot showers. Preferably with a sexy friend who doesn't mind showering with a sick person.
6. Rub mentholated salve such as menthol, eucalyptus or camphor or something similar under your nose.
7. Put hot or cold packs on your nose to make you feel more comfortable.
8. Sleep on two pillows to prevent all the snot from backlogging in your head. If you're upright it can just run down over your face all night long!
9. Don't fly unless you need to. Your head could explode! Just kidding. If you do have to fly, chew gum. That is, unless your gum get confiscated as a dangerous explosive by the security personnel.
Having a cold or flu is gross. It seems to me that these 9 "tips" don't treat a flu at all, they just help you suffer through the symptoms.
